Many diets on the market today recommend a low fat low carb diet for effective weight loss and weight maintenance. These diets claim that by limiting your fat and carbs such as some sugars, fruits, grains, starchy vegetables and fatty meats is the solution. A huge number of dieters find lowering their carbs and fat or eating a balance of protein, fats, and carbs in each meal makes them feel great and experience significant weight loss. Eating a low fat low carb diet helps people not only lose their excess weight but maintain this weight loss by making their diet a lifelong change in the way they eat.

Although many people do well on low carb diets, there are circumstances or times when even the most dedicated low carb dieters want to cut their fat intake. Some live with others that do better or prefer lower fat diets so it often becomes confusing when planning or making a meal. Some low carb diet lovers still find at some point, they may need to reduce their calorie or fat intake while older or less active people usually do not require high fat foods in their diets. Serving foods that are acceptable for both a low fat low carb diet could be a strategy well worth looking into. Reducing fats in almost any diet by even a small amount is an easy way to reduce calories significantly.

Finding foods that are great for a low fat low carb diet can be a little tricky but some foods are both. A food such as salmon is not low fat but is extremely good for you, so many consider salmon as healthy fat. Some foods, which are naturally low in carbohydrates, fat, and protein, include low-sugar fruit, low-starch vegetables, and many desserts using sugar substitutes instead of sugar. Under low fat low carb diet vegetables, you have sprouts such as alfalfa and beans; greens such as spinach and lettuce; hearty greens including kale, mustard greens, and collards; and herbs such as thyme, basil, and parsley. Under the low fat low carb diet fruits, berries such as cranberries, raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries are great because they are high in antioxidants, minerals, vitamins, and fiber but low in fat and carbs.

Having the right balance of foods in a low fat low carb diet could make the difference between no weight loss and significant weight loss. There are many websites on the internet that offer free low fat low carb diet information, menus, plans, and even journals that will help you in your weight loss journey.
