Diet Meal Plan for Your Age

from: Diet Menus… by Age

When planning a diet menu, the person’s age should be given serious consideration. The daily calories required by an adolescent are much difference then the daily calories required by an elderly person.

Adolescents gain about 20% of adult height and 50% of their body weight between the ages of 13 to 20….and because during this time their bodies are still growing... they consume or burn calories at a much high rate then a middle age or elderly person. Adolescents may therefore eat nearly twice the daily calories of an adult without becoming overweight.
It is believed that a daily diet menu of 1,000-1,200 calories will safely help most women to lose weight. While generally speaking, a diet menu consisting of a maximum of 1800 calories a day will cause weight lose in most men.

But, it is important to remember that those are only estimates of maximum calories to lose weight. Every person’s body is different. What may be maximum calorie intake for me to lose weight , may not be so perfect for you.

Because we lose both muscle tissue along with the fat when we diet, knowing your body’s nutritional requirements are extremely important before considering any diet menu. Therefore to keep from becoming under nourished, a person should always consult a nutritionist before starting any long term diet plan no matter what your ago.
